I’ve been trying my hardest to keep iftar snacks fresh and have something different daily without having to go to the store because your girl is not a fan of the madness out in the stores these days. So today I found a can of garbanzo beans in my pantry and thought some hummus sounds amazing.

Hummus is a light dip that goes well with chips, pita bread, olives, veggies and even main entrees and I am so excited to break my fast with it today. Hummus is something that is very customizable upon what flavors you like. I’ve even have made chocolate flavored hummus with my class in the past, many of them couldn’t understand why it didn’t taste like beans.
All you need is::
1 15 oz can garbanzo beans
About 5 tbsp water
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tbsp lemon juice
3 cloves of garlic
1 jalapeno **optional
2/4 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp salt
1 hand full of cilantro **optional
All you need to do is:
Add all ingredients except for the water into the food processor and begin to pulse
Slowly add in water to thin
Continue to add water and process until smooth and creamy
Place in serving dish and chill (if your hummus is too wet lay a paper towel flesh to the moisture while it rests to remove excess moisture)
At time of serving top with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and sprinkle some paprika to the top for color
Serve
