And she’s back!

I know it’s been sometime but with Draft day a few hours away I knew it needed a blog so I could say what I think we need and be able to compare to what we get. If you are a fellow Raider fan you already know 75% of our picks come from left field. It’s always been the Al Davis way to pick players we as fans barely looked at and though he’s not here the way we make picks has remained.

Our picks are at:

Round 1 #17

Round 2 #48 Round 3 #79 & #80

Round 4 #121

Round 5 #162 & #167

Round 6 #200

...

My thoughts on what we need

-Free safety: don’t get me wrong Abram looks great but he’s a full on character which makes him a liability in pass coverage whose aggressive tendencies often leave him out of position

-Right tackle: we just cleared our offensive line and sent Brown to the Patriots so of course we need someone amazing in this spot. Parker was good while he was in but he was inconsistent. Consistency is what we need.

-Line backer: we have a few solid ones but I feel like we continuously lack here so why not go out and bring in Parsons from Penn State. Let’s hope Gus runs our defense from a total new stand point and style.

-Corner back: This is one of our weakest position, Arnette was a let down last year. I doubt we will pick one up early if we chose to because a free safety and a right tackle is so much more important but we need to strengthen this position and get a great guy before we have to settle.

-Defensive tackle: I am a huge Maxx Crosby fan, only if we could get someone like him on the inside. Our defense needs guidance and some more key players. We have a poor run defense and got rid of Hurse so we need a star athlete in this position.

...

Those are just my thoughts on what we need. Looking at all the Mock drafts out there, I have seen some good ones and some bad ones. The power is with Gruden and Mayock so let’s see who they choose and how stressed them make us.

...

Its crazy we know what we need and how we need to improve but we make the wrong picks, rookie mistakes, get banged up and start wishfully thinking for next year.

Welcome to draft day guys!!
