When I was little we use to stay on the move, always out going somewhere. It would be easy to say that coming to the Bay from LA was my favorite because it happened often or going to Tijuana because we always came back with the funniest stories but nope those don't make the cut for my favorite childhood vacation.
My favorite childhood vacation was when my family went to Tampa Bay Florida for 2 weeks. My dad was a Raiders Booster Member and we often went on the road with the Raiders to their games and this time we made it a whole family affair because there were a ton of things for us to experience and see in Florida. We spent the majority of our first week with the Raiders, hosting meet and greets, watching practices, having club dinner and such but we also lived at the pool in the day time.
The day of the Raider game we boarded on hundreds of buses and flocked down to the coliseum to tailgate in true raider fashion. My brother was dressed like a raiders player with eye black and all and I had on my cheerleader costume with pigtails and silver pompoms, people kept stooping us to take pictures with them. We felt like celebrities.
The best part was the we won that game against Tampa Bay, the feeling of leaving an away game a winner is just another level of excitement. We stayed at the coliseum till it was bare because we were out in the parking lot celebrating. When it was time to leave the coliseum and to go back to the hotel i got separated from my family and got on the wrong bus but my excitement from the game had me not even realize it. The bus driver let me sit in the front of the bus with him and when we got to the hotel my mom, dad and brother were so mad to see me pull up in the bus with a huge smile on my face because they were searching for me. That night we had a huge celebratory party at the hotel with the Raiders to celebrate the win before everyone went home.
Instead of going home my family went to Orlando for the second week of our vacation. We spent the next 7 days on tours of Florida swamps, at Disney World, Universal Studios Florida, at major water parks and a ton of other amazing places.
