This quarantine has had my Starbucks card fully loaded!
I for sure have been my own barista with freshly french pressed coffee daily and this time around I thought I should give it a go with my own chai tea latte, not like I haven't ever made this before (aka cold chai after making a huge pot for visitors) but this one is a little more precise because giving recipes you need precise
Just FYI Indians often look at you with an arched eye brow when you say chai tea because the word chai means tea, so your basically saying tea tea latte; but worry not I'm not one to judge.
All you need is:
-5 black tea bags
-5 cardamom pods
-1 cinnamon stick
-4 cloves
-2 tbs vanilla extract
-1/2 cup sugar
-cups water
-milk of choice
Directions:
-In a pot add water to a high flame
-Add in spices breaking in half to help release flavor
-When it starts to boil turn to medium and add vanilla and sugar
-Let simmer for 20 minutes (to ensure that spices release all their flavor)
-Turn off and let come to room temp
-Strain into a jar or pitcher and place in fridge and let get cold
-Once chilled pour chai in glass filled with milk and ice
-If you want to get fancy top with whipped cream and a shake of cinnamon or cardamom

OMG! This hit the spot after a long day of Ramadan. I chose to use coconut milk which gave my chai tea latte a lighter flavor.
