Craving a sweet treat that you can make with a few simple items in your fridge and pantry? If so why not make churros! Its way easier than you would think::
All you need is:
-1 cup all purpose flour
-1 cup water
-3 tbs unsalted butter
-4 eggs
-3 tbs vanilla extract
-pinch of salt
-1/2 cup sugar
-4 tbs cinnamon powder
-5 cups of oil
-a pastry bag with a star tip or a gallon size zip lock bag
The directions are pretty simple as well:
-In a saucepan bring the water, salt and butter to a boil
-Turn off heat and add in flour, stir until all the flour has been combined and is formed into a ball away from edges
-Transfer into stand mixed and whip for 1 minute to cool down mixture
-Add in 1 egg at a time until combined and repeat for each egg
-Add vanilla and mix until combined
-Transfer mix into your piping bag or zip lock bag
-Heat oil on medium high heat
-In a plate or shallow dish mix the sugar and cinnamon powder together (save for final step)
-When oil is hot drop in ropes of batter cutting off with a knife to a desired length (to get uniform shapes and sizes the pastry bag is the way to go)
-Fry for about 3 to 5 minutes, until golden brown on both sides (be sure to flip)
-Remove churros from oil with a slotted spoon
-Roll churros into sugar and cinnamon mixture from before
-Enjoy
See that wasn't so hard was it?! I bet you will enjoy them, a great desert or sweet treat that you may have thought would be hard work and easier to buy actually isn't that bad at all.

These are the churros that we made at home last night, we didn't use a pastry bag so our shapes are a little weird but the taste was spot on.
