Every Wednesday in Ms. Brandi's classroom we engage in smart club for an hour. Smart club is all about extra expansion of brain cells, we want to expand on things that we often overlook and brush up on skills we already have. Smart clubs have been declared pay me day as you get paid in Ms. Brandi bucks for your participation and accuracy, and your bucks can be used in the class store every Friday for class passes, sweet and savory sweets, small toys, school supplies or saved up for things like lunch with Ms. Brandi, slurpee or a class party.
At the starting of the year I chose all smart club activities to give them a variety of activities to prevent them from getting board and also to allow them to chose their favorite as the class chooses the activities that will be played the following week once they get an understanding of the game. The basic activities are have trivia games, family feud, math battles, spelling bees, STEAM lessons, brain teaser challenges, knowledge ball and their all time favorite jeopardy. My kids really like to play jeopardy and sometimes request a second session to be played on fun Friday's as well.
Seeing that its Wednesday I thought I should share a Ms. Brandi originally created jeopardy game board created just for the blog with you so you can play with your kids and or family. The rules are pretty basic and just like the actual show with a few kid friendly changes. For the best results you should play with 3 or more people. One person will be the "announcer" as they will read the questions and have the answers with them. The remaining people will be opponents, you can play everyone for themselves or split up into teams. All you need to play is a paper and a pen or pencil to keep the score. There are 7 different categories, and each category has 4 questions priced at 100 to 400, 100 being simple and 400 a little bit harder. When it is your turn you pick a category and a price to play and thee announcer will give you the question, you will then have 15 seconds to give an answer, the first answer given will be your answer. If correct you get those points if not the next person or team will get their turn and they must then give a category and price to play, and so forth. The game is played back and forth until there are no remaining questions. The person or team with the most points at the end will be the winners.
Lets give it a try::
