Though I couldn't be there physically like we intended because of COVID I was able to watch his success on Zoom. I sure was yelling at the TV as he walked in, gave his speech and was pinned as if I was there in the crowd.
My brother has been on his second venture with the Border Patrol since November and it has now become official that he has ended his second journey. This time around he was elected as the class leader because he already went through a similar program and they knew that he had it in him, though he was hesitant he stepped up and did the best job that he could to lead his whole class to success.
During his ceremony today he found out that his class elected him as class leader and the director read a letter written to him by the class thanking him for his leadership and all I could think was yes, that's my brother. I know that being away from home for so long, especially with having a new baby was hard but he did this for his family and he made his dream come true.
I am so proud of him so making this happen, I am his number one fan and I will always back any venture that he chooses but I know that this is something that he has wanted to do forever. My dad is not here but I know that he would be as proud as my mother and I that my brother made it!
My brother is for sure one of my best friends and in our history he has always been like my son at times because we spent a lot of time alone when my mom was working days and nights and she always had me taking care of him and making sure that he was okay. This makes me even more proud of him and his success. Congratulations brother, I love you and I can not wait to see where this journey takes you!
